Salt crystallization (from the Dead Sea), bronze, metal

In the Dead Sea, salt crystals are formed due to underwater springs. They remain unseen until they reach the surface. Blooming as they reach it, their mushroom-shaped top reveals the surface height. Their composition is determined entirely by their surroundings: the chemistry, minerals, water level, the dryness of the air, and the heat of the sun. Once displaced, they started crying as the salt slowly drips down to the bronze plate until, after a great deal of time, all that will remain are the tracks of these tears.
