This series consists of two elements: fragments of the actual buoys that once marked the physical border between Israel and Jordan, and a paragraph from the Israel-Jordan peace treaty (in English, Hebrew, and Arabic) that says, “This line is the administrative boundary between Jordan and the territory which came under Israeli military government control in 1967. Any treatment of this line shall be without prejudice to the status of that territory.” The treaty strives to define a clear-cut line of separation despite the arbitrariness of nature, as the collision of two tectonic plates frequently alters the course of the Jordan Rive
