Facts on the ground, 2018
Bronze 30x30x10

This work is part of a series of bronze casts of Loess soil from the so-called “baptismal site” on the former Israel-Jordan border. The desert soil is cracked and split. Casting it preserves a moment in time. The bits are weld back to remain bound. "Facts on the ground” is a diplomatic and geopolitical term that means the situation in reality as opposed to abstract analysis. The term was popularized in the 1970s in connection to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
